RUN · HIDE · TELL
Level 2 Award in citizenAID
The purpose of this qualification is to prepare the Learner to develop the skills and knowledge needed to guide them to react safely, to pass effective messages to the emergency services, to prioritise the injured and to give life-saving first aid in the event of a shooting, stabbing, bombing or other deliberate incident. This combination of effective organisation and immediate treatment will help to save lives.
First of all, learners are introduced to citizenAID and taken through a number of scenarios including active knife attack, active shooter, and bomb explosion. Learners are taught how to identify suspects, how to act calmly and effectively in each situation, and how to convey vital information to emergency services.
Practical lessons include how to perform Triage to prioritise care for injured persons, how to treat catastrophic bleeding, fractures and burns, and how to hand casualties over to emergency services.

Consequently, learners should wear appropriate clothing and footwear, (eg. trousers and flat footwear) and be physically capable of carrying out the practical elements of the course.
Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of the training. While there are no other formal entry requirements, to benefit from the training we advise that learners have a minimum of Level 1 in Literacy or Numeracy or equivalent.
