Basic First Aid
This 3-hour course will teach you everyday first aid skills, which are invaluable when accidents happen around the home or when you are out and about. Unlike some basic first aid courses that don’t include CPR, ours does. You will also learn how to effectively treat a choking adult, child, or baby and how to help someone who is bleeding or has been burned.
Learners are taught how to check for responsiveness, open an airway, and check for breathing. Practical lessons include CPR, choking and the recovery position as well as applying dressings and slings.

On successful completion of this course, you will receive a H2SAL Basic First Aid certificate which is valid for 3 years. To learn first aid skills appropriate for use in the workplace you should complete a 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work or a 3-day First Aid at Work course.

Basic First Aid is a practical, hands-on course. Therefore it delivers the skills and confidence to use first aid skills in a real life situation. Consequently, learners must be physically capable of carrying out the practical elements of the course such as CPR and recovery position.
Learners must be at least 12 years old on the first day of the training. If under the age of 16, you must attend with a responsible adult.
